About Poolesville Day
The Poolesville Day Committee was created to provide a
permanent, stable organization dedicated to planning and
running Poolesville Day, our town’s annual celebration of history,
community, and spirit located in Montgomery County, MD.

The Committee is incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. To maintain this status, it is required to have a board of directors consisting of three members. These members may be officers of the Committee or appointed community members. The board’s role is primarily administrative to ensure compliance, while the day-to-day planning and operations are led by the Committee itself.
The Committee is guided by an Executive Team made up of the President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and other officers as needed (such as an External Affairs Vice President or Business Relations Liaison). These officers are elected by majority vote at the annual meeting, serve two-year terms, and may be re-elected. They can only be removed for malfeasance upon recommendation by the President with a Majority vote of the members.

All members of the Poolesville Day Committee share a commitment to the mission and goals of the event. Leadership roles are filled by those dedicated to preserving the tradition, building community, and ensuring that Poolesville Day continues to thrive year after year.
One Day. A Lifetime of Community Spirit.
